San Francisco - San Diego : those cities stand almost a thousand miles apart. As I drive down Route 1 or Pacific Coast Highway, I can gradually feel the differences between Northern and Southern California. But behind those contrasts, one culture remains the same: surf and skate culture, impersonated by those proud atypical people I met along the way, among whom skate legend Tommy Guerrero, surf photographer Patrick Trefz and longboarder Kassia Meador.
